Office Information and Policies

Appointments

You are our highest priority!  Our goals are to provide you with excellent patient education, communication, and service while creating a beautiful and lasting result.  Most appointments take less than 30 minutes, and are spaced 5-8 weeks apart.  A few appointments, like bonding the braces to the teeth, take longer.  We try our best to be fair to all our patients to minimize missing school or work time.  Therefore, certain types of appointments have to be done at different times of the day in order for all of our patients' treatment to progress as planned.  Usually, shorter appointments are scheduled before or after school and work, while longer ones are scheduled during the morning hours or early afternoons.

Each orthodontic appointment requires a coordination of scheduling, timing, and team members, as well as preparation time. When a patient misses their appointment without notifying our office, it not only leaves a significant gap in our schedule, but prevents someone else from being seen during that time.

We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately.

Financial Information

It is our mission to provide you with affordable, high-quality treatment that fits your budget!  The fee depends on many factors including severity of the patient's case, treatment time to accomplish our goals, and appliances required to achieve those goals.  We realize that this is an important investment, and offer a variety of payment options to meet your needs.  Our office accepts payments by cash, checks, debit cards, and Visa and MasterCard credit cards.  We also offer low- and no-interest financingoptions through the Care Credit system. If you have any questions about financing or payment, ask us!

For your benefit, we have the following financial policies:

  • If full payment is made at the onset of treatment, we will offer a fee discount. (If you have insurance, we will offer a discount for payment of your portion of the fee that will not be covered by insurance.)
  • To fit your individual needs, financial arrangements can be made to extend your payments over a period of months with our automatic credit or debit program.
  • For your convenience, we accept payment by VISA and MasterCard.
  • As a courtesy, our office will accept assignment of insurance benefits and credit any insurance payments to your account. Please note that we have no contractual relationship with your insurance company and cannot enforce payment. In the event of non-payment by your insurance company the parent/responsible party will be held fully responsible for payment.

Insurance

If your insurance covers orthodontic treatment, you will receive the benefit of reduced personal costs. Many insurance policies have a lifetime orthodontic benefit that is distinct from regular dental insurance. Remember that insurance policies vary, and we will review your insurance to determine the appropriate course of action.

Because insurance policies vary, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. To help us with your insurance filing, please bring your insurance card or insurance information with you to your consult.  We will help you find out all the details to your insurance benefits, and will also file them for you if you proceed with treatment!  Please remember that orthodontic insurance is a benefit for you or your child. If, during the course of treatment, your benefits change, the financially responsible party is accountable for all charges.
